Kenton Patterson, from Whangārei, New Zealand, has a story rooted in the heart of rural Northland and driven by a vision for a smarter, more human-focused future.
Growing up in Tangiterōria, a small rural town in the North Island of New Zealand, I spent my childhood on the family’s dairy farm. Early mornings, muddy boots, and the rhythm of farm life shaped my work ethic and appreciation for community. A son of a dairy farmer, a “rural upbringing” isn’t just part of my past it’s central to who I am
After leaving the farm I moved into security work, starting in Dargaville before taking on community security patrol around Whangarei and the Rose Street Bus Stop, The job demanded resilience, and I was able to build trust and connections within the community, qualities he carried into every chapter of his life.
One of my proudest roles has been as a single father raising my daughter. Parenthood has influenced many of my decisions, giving me a clear sense of purpose and a drive to build a better future for the next generation.
Today, I am the founder of Future Tech Wise, a venture dedicated to merging New Zealand values and culture with cutting-edge technology. My mission is to ensure artificial intelligence complements humanity, supporting people though these changes
My path from muddy paddocks to AI innovation is more than a career journey it’s proof that strong roots can inspire bold visions for tomorrow.
My Mission / Vision, To support Gen X & Boomers in understanding and using everyday AI, and to blend New Zealand / Kiwi values with AI , To promote technology and AI in ways that uplift individuals and communities
